My wife and I had dinner her on Valentine's Day. We had never been here before. I had steak and scallops. Overall we really enjoyed the wonderful services. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I could tell the other waitstaff were also taking care of their customers. We got our food pretty quickly, especially considering the rush. The portions were generous and the sides dishes very good... we were told most were home made. The atmosphere was very nice. Not too crowded and nice decorating Only downside is it was a bit pricey but not too expensive. The outside of the building could use some renovation as its appearance made me wonder if I had chosen the wrong restaurant. But considering you don't spend more than a minute seeing it, I didn't find that a big deal.

Busy at peak hrs. Found seat at bar. Ordered drinks and app. Table was ready sooner than expected. Bartender was friendly and transferred the app. to our table. Burnt ends are the "best" ever! Ribs were good. Good smoky flavor but I would've like some extra sauce. Mac n cheese was good. Stay away from the baked beans (just tasted all the onions in it). Will definitely be back for the burnt ends and corn bread.

Cozy environment... Service was exceptional and waitress explained the specials very well... Food was great, but for being on the TV show "Triple D" ( Diners/Drive-Ins/and Dives) I wasn't blown away... The "wow" factor of the brisket, being the main attraction, just wasn't there... Which is the only thing holding Oak and Embers back from getting five stars... Kid friendly and the smoked sausage definitely recommended.

Just ok. Burnt ends were decent. Food seemed thrown together a bit. Atmosphere is nice, good beer. Wait staff thought we had left and were the last ones. Screamed Penis very loudly. Which is cool I guess but this is a restaurant review so they could have waited.

I had the Tavern Burger which unfortunately was more like a Smoked Gouda Sandwich with a whisper of meat, and some form of candied Romanian Pepper sauce, and onion rings. The burger was ordered medium well and while it came out quickly, the temperature indicated it had been sitting for some time, the onion rings were also dried up and slightly overdone. My wife had the Pulled BBQ pork dinner with corn bread and green beans and mashed. The best part of the meal was the green beans. The Pulled Pork portion of the plate, while it looked as if there was an amazing amount offered, it turned out to be about 75 to 80% fat instead of meat. The sauce was super high in brown sugar, you could actually taste it, it was so sweet. The corn bread was brushed with sugar water to give it a splash of sweetness, but otherwise it was rather dry and tasteless. The mashed was as thick as spackle and again rather tasteless. While it's common for sweeter BBQ in the Northern Eastern part of the US, this was a bit over the top. It would be great to see choices in sauce such as a more savory one or even a classic vinegar based sauce. Now I will say, our server was FANTASTIC she really made the experience much better. I will also compliment the selection of local distilleries and breweries, that's a great thing to see and I wish more restaurants would take advantage of these treasures. All in all for a first impression I would give Oak And Embers a low "D". My hope is that they improve as the concept is excellent... It's the execution that's falling short.
