The measure of a good Italian restaurant ( in my opinion) is if you can cut veal Marsala with a fork. You CAN at Peppers! What a delightful spot...Mandy and Anita made us feel right at home AND made us laugh. Don't be put off by the way the place looks (like something out of 1970) because the food is fantastic!!! And the prices are great too. Go see for yourself; you will agree.

Cute, charming, friendly service and INCREDIBLE food! The atmosphere is so cozy and it has a very family sort of feel to it. More small places like this should exist.... but only if they pose no threat to Pepper's! This is definitely a new go-to for my Italian fix!

My husband and I have had Italian food in many cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago. This was absolutely the worst Italian food we have ever had!! The salad was wilted and the dressing was very runny. The so-called bread, which were WHEAT BISCUITS were so hard. (They didn't even include garlic, butter to put on the hard biscuits). The wine was horrible, it tasted like pure vinegar, and must of had been standing up, and been open for weeks. The sauce tasted like it was out of a Ragu jar. The lasagna noodles were so tough I had to use a knife to cut them! I stopped eating completely because I didn't want to get sick to my stomach. Personally, I think all these five star ratings are people who haven't had any authentic Italian food and don't know any different. Yuck.

We love this place. Great local color. Our server could not have been nicer and he was friendly and appropriately attentive. My husband and I agreed that their spaghetti with meat sauce is head and shoulders above most that we have had, with a rich, almost smoky flavor that keeps us coming back over and over. Salad very fresh and a nice size for a side salad. My husband loves the meatballs. It's very popular so they do a brisk take out business, and if you don't want to wait for a table get there soon after they open at 5. Sidewalk seating available in nice weather. Family-owned business.

Dirty, run down, weird place. We were seated and the waitress ignored us, the place was not busy but she decided to cleaning up another table instead of greeting us, letting us wait... Kitchen staff stood in the kitchen doorway starring at us, just a weird omen. My jaw dropped when I looked at the menu. The prices were crazy high for a little diner like this one!! $23 for lasagna!!! This little corner diner is not Chicago Michigan Ave. folks!! Weird atmosphere, neglecting waitress and crazy prices, we decided to walk out. The owner followed us outside and barked questions at us in an agitated way. Just an awful way to run a business.
