I'm writing this review based only on the sushi bar. I can't speak for the other food or service in the general restaurant, but my daughter and I are regulars at the sushi bar. Hunan Medina has one of the best sushi chefs I've ever experienced. Quinton is very creative and artistic with his rolls and takes pride in his work. He is a very friendly and personable chef, and his food has a lot of great flavors and looks as pretty as it tastes. I have eaten sushi all over the world, and I am happy to say that Quinton can hold his own against some of the best restaurants out there. If you've never eaten sushi and would like to try, this is a great place to go. The fish is always fresh, never smelly, and the flavor combinations range from mild and light to spicy and complex for the more seasoned palate.

I placed a takeout order this evening. It was my first time eating at House of Hunan and I was very happy! The girl who took my order was very friendly and answered my questions very politely. My order was made on time. My food was hot and delicious! LOVED the red curry sauce! Will definitely eat here again! Hoping to come back soon for a date night with the hubby.

It used to be a great place to eat and dine it has consistently declined in service, customer service and quality. Today after calling ahead, being told to “come on in there was plenty of seating” after a short 7 minute drive, we were told that it would be a 2 hours wait.... The place was empty! Horrible experience and will share with everyone as I am a long time customer ( have bragged about it) to family friends and even customers that I take there on a regular basis. Amazing how one experience from an inexperienced hosted and even a less business minded shift manager can turn the perception of what used to be a great place to dine. If I ever go back, it will be to visit the ever attentive bar staff who is incredible!!

This is a great local sushi place. We have gone for many birthday and company events, and the food had always been good. Service is always good to great, and the place itself is very nice. Prices are reasonable and availability is usually decent given that it is on the Square.

After enjoying a great evening at Castle Noel and not being from the area, we inquired where we could get dinner. Please let the nice girl in the gift shop know to stop sending anyone to House of Hunan. Our table wobbled so bad you could not lean on it at all and we mentioned it and were ignored (we ended up placing a plate under the feet to try and secure it). Our waitress started off strong with the appetizers, but once our food came out, we literally never heard from her again. We had to hunt her down to get a box and our bill. But then imagine our unpleasant surprise when on the bill we discovered that they charge almost $5 extra PER person if you accepted the offer of brown rice vs. white or fried! This up charge was not mentioned. I ordered green tea to drink since they don't have coffee(?) and my wife said she would just have that too, thinking they would bring a small pot for us to share. In most places, the tea is free or included, but we were brought 2 separate small pots and charged almost $3 each for essentially hot water. The food was very bland (we would have added some type of sauce, but there was none on our table and we had no waitress to ask) and overpriced for what you received.
