The best breasted chicken around . And service is great and the homemade bread is to die for. The Cole slaw is legendary and people come in just to pick up containers of it to take home. You can also buy the homemade bread and the deserts are awesome. By the way that is broasted not breasted chicken sorry about that.but this places food is to die for. You will never regret going there. But please remember that this is a down home place to go not a fancy dress up high fancy dinner joint. I've never had anybody say they didn't like the food so go and enjoy and don't forget to grad a loaf of fresh homemade bread to take home it's on your right as you get to the register and they will slice it if you ask nicely. ENJOY!!

Absolutely appalled by the way myself and my company were treated. We were by far the youngest customers in the restaurant (besides employees) and were definitely treated differently then the customers around us. Food was mediocre all but the Coleslaw which was amazing. And when we complained to management about our service she brushed it off as if we were a nuisance. Will NOT be going back. Definitely will NOT suggest to others. Very disappointed.

I think most people north of town know this place but growing up south of town I had never heard of it until they had the fire. This is old school comfort / diner food done really well. They're fried chicken and homemade bread are amazing. But everything else I have tried has been to notch as well. We used to drive to Lebanon to the Country Kitchen for good friend chicken, but now we take turns between there and Mel-O-Dee.

I love this place. I have been coming to this place since I was knee-high to a grasshopper (and I am in my 50's). Brings back lots of good memories. Good food, large portions, and good service - even during the lunch rush. Glad to see they fixed it back up from the tornado.

One of the best restaurants in town! The food is really good & employees are very efficient & nice. I'm sure glad they opened back up, after the tornado tore through there last year.
