Had a wonderful dinner! Staff was amazing and makes you feel very comfortable from the first greeting! Husband had the steak... cooked to perfection for him, medium rare. His potatoes were great (I had some of his as well) and he loved the grilled zucchini! His steamer clams were in a wonderful white wine sauce, had a small hint of spice to it. I had the lasagna. It was a bit cheesy but overall taste was good. Could use more red sauce and that would have topped it off perfectly. Very nice place but don’t have to be all dressed up. It’s definitely a place we will come back to again next time we visit here!

We spent Christmas eve with family at the Black Trumpet Bistro and it was exceptional! The food and service were both amazing. They were able to please everyone, from meat eaters to a vegetarian. The bread served before the meal was incredibly good. A young man, I'm assuming was a family member of ownership, made sure we had water and kept us entertained. These people have a great thing going and I would recommend you try the Black Trumpet if you find yourself in Brookings. Thanks for a great Christmas eve! We will be back!

My wife and I are vegan and we'd been struggling to find good vegan food in Brookings, however we went to Black Trumpet and they were very accommodating. They modified a couple of pasta dishes for us and they were fantastic! Special thanks to the chef and friendly staff as we vegans can be a total pain in the a$$!

Delicious! Both the service and food were A+. I had the warm spinach salad and soup of the day, which was cheese and potato. My husband had the mussels in coconut broth and their special pasta with pan seared scallops and prawns in a lemon, champagne, butter sauce. Yummy! We basically shared everything. Also, their homemade focaccia was perfectly seasoned. warm, light and fluffy.

Always a good dining experience. The Chicken Marsala is my favorite. Also a very nice wine selection. Good food, nice ambience. Yummy Creme Brulee. Luncheon Hot Italian Sandwich so good.
