I have been an on again off again Mazzi's customer since I was in college in Corvallis in the late 80s, then Eugene in the early 90s and then again since 2010. Located in front of Hideaway Bakery, dinner here is always cozy and comfortable. Seating can be scarce and service can get a little slow when they are busy at the peak of dinner, but the staff, especially the long term veteran staff, always work promptly to make you feel relaxed. The kitchen always served quality, correctly prepared meals. They have a seasonal creative list up front and familiar favorites in the rest of the menu. My wife and I really like their house Italian dressing tossed salads. I love the house made pasta and it's among the best in Eugene. Mazzi's is comfort and quality, and the list of options is long, including pizza (but I always order entrees). The wine list is good, especially the Italian imports, and there are inexpensive carafe options. I've had some less responsive service at times with new trainee servers, but this is only occasional. When I want Italian comfort quality dinner with decent service, Mazzi's is the place. They feed me delicious meals when I'm a little jittery. And I keep feeling eager to come back.

A consistently good restaurant with locally- focused, seasonal specials in addition to a generous regular menu. Food is consistently flavorful and well paired. My only complaints are that vegetables are often over done and wait times between courses can be quite long. The service is professional but dinner time is chronically under staffed. However, the wait staff are aware of the wait times and go out of their way to be friendly and to compensate with little extras like adding a batch of the delicious dinner rolls to your take home bag or comping your dessert. The seasonal specials are really the shining stars here. They run higher in price than the regular fare, but are worth every penny.

We had a group of 10 people for my sister's birthday.. First off, my sister's appetizer came AFTER her meal. We all waited an extremely long time for our food, some people's food was cold and we got them in increments instead of all at once. My sister made a point to ask for vegetarian spaghetti, and she didn't notice the meat in it until after a couple of bites. She got sick from it. When we ordered drinks, it took about 20 minutes for anyone who ordered alcohol to get their drinks. Food was expensive, small portions and wasn't very good. Waiter was nice, gave us free dessert & apologized quite a few times... Dessert wasn't good either.

Wonderful food. Server needed some help. She was good, but stretched too thin. Didn't get back to us very often. But food made up for it. Seafood fettuccine was awesome, and the rolls delicious.

We waited for an hour and a half to get our food for prom and the waitress was very rude but they had an automatic 18% tip so I don't think she cared about pleasing the costumers, because of this we were 45 minutes late to prom. When we requested a straw for our drinks the waitress rudely implied we were trying to kill sea turtles and walked out of the room so we had to obtain one from another waiter. When we got our food one member of our party's pasta had a piece of trash/ napkin in it
