What an amazing dining experience! Completely unexpected for a Tuesday evening. All of our wait staff was spot on - helpful and vibrant! And the food - well, the quality, quantity and tastes were all over the top, from appetizers to desserts. A dinner at Jake's with your sweetheart is definitely not one to miss! I highly recommend!

We made reservations (highly recommended) for dinner. We were seated exactly at our chosen time. We started the evening off with wine and a double order of mussels (there were 3 of us). Mussels were big and fat and not a single one was over cooked! They just melted in our mouths! Great wine selection! I had Rock-fish, my wife had bay scallops, and our real estate agent(we were celebrating the purchasing of a house) had Razor Clams for entrees. Each entree was presented with flair and all came at the same time! Everything was prepared and cooked expertly, nothing was over-cooked! Tip my hat to the chef! Excellent meals! I highly recommend Jake's Famous Crawfish and we look forward to dining there again! Waiter was very attentive and even had some recommendations of his own, but we knew what we wanted and Jake's Famous Crawfish delivered!

I love the "Old Portland" ambience of Jake's. The food is very good and service here is stellar. For years now, my daughter and I attend on a holiday. Reservations are needed and the place is booked solid. We run into friends and enjoy a traditional, or sometimes a not so traditional meal, since we both have some dietary restrictions. Our service has been great, even with all our special needs. Jake's Happy Hour menu is great and there are several times , which coordinate well with playgoing or movie times. I like to stop in for a bite and a drink after seeing a play at Portland Center Stage or ART.

Me and my family have been going to Jakes ever since I can remember I love this place so much. Great ambiance, you will need a reservation but it is worth it. Food is very good and cooked with love.

Great service and food. I particularly enjoyed the starter platter with fantastic oysters. The smoked salmon was very tasty with the accompanying sauces. I went for the chef's special stuffed salmon, which was cooked to perfection. Amber ale went down nicely with that. Their dessert menu is full of great choices and it is hard to pick. I decided on the chocolate mousse which was airy and really light. I highly recommend that. The only downside is that we waited for 30 minutes at the door with 4 kids despite the fact that we arrived in time for our reserved table. They seem to poorly manage the table allocation to guests although they allocate the tables with 15 minute resolution! (funny)
