I love the menu and the food. I was invited by my son with his children to have dinner last night ... my grand daughter picked Isabel because she is a vegetarian..I was hesitant at going out bacause I was tired after weeding my garden..I am sure glad I decided to put myself together to join them! I eat out a lot and am familiar with restaurants that I feel are worth the time and money -- I have been a resident of Portland for over 55 years and have seen restaurants come and go, Price rarely matters as far as quality is concerned. I thought the prices were right, the food was fresh and very creatively prepared. I will go back again and again.

Such a lovely place and wholesome food!!! I wasn’t able to finish my dish (and couldn’t take leftovers with me) so they still boxed it up and said they would give it to someone who needs it. SOOOO SWEET. Highly recommend!

I really wanted to love Isabel. The menu is amazing and I found myself wanting to try everything. As it turns out, I liked few of the held dozen dishes we tried. The descriptions don't really match the delivery. Most dishes are sorta "deconstructed". "Hash" turns out to be steak on top of a hash brown with all the veggies off in their own corner. Weird is all I can say. We also found the dishes to be under seasoned. Isabel is a solid 3 stars, but with a little more flavor and a bit more chemistry it could be a star or even two higher without much effort.

The food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Service can be commonly a little slow, and I don't mean waiting for the fantastic food to be prepared. It's a small restaurant with a small friendly staff and gets very busy and the servers get too busy sometimes to offer speedy greetings and order taking. They frequently appear rushed and behind. If you aren't starving..it's worth the wait! The plate presentation is always lovely, and food quality fresh and picture perfect!

We stopped here for brunch, and it was really tasty food. We got the coconut french toast and an egg dish. Mimosas were made really well (right ratio of champagne to juice). My one criticism is that the cappuccino wasn't good at all (more of a latte than a cappuccino, and it was way too hot). But since this is clearly more of a food place and everything else was up to standard, I felt 5 stars made more sense.
