24-hour diner near interstate highway 5, often under-staffed, sometimes quite busy, but waiting for your food is easy in such charming an atmosphere. The coffee here is good, and is served with a thermos on the side. Their selection is great and changes throughout the year, their fruit pies are great and they have some less common flavors like strawberry rhubarb. The food is good too, the cooks can make a fabulous burger or chicken pasta, perfect with red wine from Washington state or an Oregon IPA beer. The music on the stereo is pretty good, it's not uncommon to hear slick 1980's rock ballads with guitar solos or even better.

Absolutely THE BEST Shari's I've ever gone to! And, I'm a Shari's guru! Customer service was great and the food was perfect. Typically my steak on my NW steak salad is never cooked medium as I always request. Without me mentioning prior experience at other Shari's, they brought me my steak salad and it was on point! Perfect. I highly recommend this location.

Well, there is apparently a death in the service industry when it comes to customer service... "In a few months, we won't allow any substitutions... Because they are complicated" - Manager on Duty What I heard in that exchange, rather than a polite sorry, was that Shari's (or at minimum this location) has now moved to a format which will make it increasingly difficult for me to find menu items I can eat. I have dietary guidelines I follow that mean I can't have certain things. When I want eggs but no bread and the only sides I can choose are pancakes, French toast, or biscuits, what am I supposed to have? I'll tell you: I'm NOT going to have Shari's, that's what. Mostly because if I can't substitute something equally priced on the menu then there are other places I can choose from that will make it easy. If side prices are listed right there in the menu it's not going to be rocket surgery to figure out what should be equally priced for substitution. I'm not asking for the world here. If I can go to a fast food place and get a burger with no bun but wrapped in lettuce... well... Substitutions: It was something you used to get at Shari's without getting lectured.

Please be aware this review is only for the two pies I tried. I have not eaten in the restaurant. I had a hankering for some pie and tried to find something that both the wife and I would like. The staff was great, I received great service. The pies were just meh, the crust is pretty bland, more like mashed up Saltines than a good crisp pie crust. I love whip cream, but this was too waxy for my liking. I understand why, as the pies need to sit in the display case for a while and fresh topping would just melt away. I worked in a bakery as a teenager and unless you have a high volume of customers you either have to limit what you sell or have products that can stay in the display case a few days. So this may just be where things land given those realities. I will probably go back, but think next time I get single slices to try some other pie types.

Wow. Pretty bad experience. 3 others served before our table. We were being actively ignored. After the 2nd person we gave up and went to the pie rack. Surely we have to be acknowledged. 3rd person standing behind us gets served? Seriously. Well okay that was 3 so we left. Thanks for NOT serving us? Not the first bad experience here. Another time we were lectured over a coupon? It was current. I announced it prior to being seated and even asked for clarification. Asked again prior to placing the order. Manager lectures me on how I did everything wrong and I should have told them about a coupon up front. Not so happy and not so content. If you get good service? Good for you. I doubt I will go to this one ever again. My table just needed to eat.
