We visited last night for the first time in a while. The new management is a breath of fresh air. In the past the service and quality had much to be desired. The new chef, Peter, does a fantastic job and we're very excited that the brick oven is back in action. The pizza is superb. They even did a made to order for me with scallops! Chef Peter also gave us some of his freshly made herb bread to take home. It was so good we may stop by just to pick up a loaf or get one to go next time we're there for dinner. Once their POS system is running smoothly they will have a top notch establishment that will enhance the area's wonderful bar & restaurant scene. We're looking forward to coming back soon.

I happened across this restaurant while passing through town. The Pizza Ciro is excellent. The house salad was all fresh field greens, tomatoes, green peppers and baby spinach....no iceberg lettuce. House Italian dressing was fabulous and wait staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely a hidden gem in East Stroudsburg.

Our first experience with Ciro's was an overall, if not rousing, success. We stayed at the Hampton Inn, and walked 2 short blocks for a take out order. The space is mostly a bar, and the restaurant is very small, and the barmaids double as waitresses, so take out is probably a good choice. The staff was friendly, but not overly attentive: young girls smoking (outside) and checking their text messages. I never needed to ask for another drink while I waited at the bar for my food however, so they did their job. The fellows at the bar were chatty, and waiting for the food was relaxing with a glass of cheap wine. As for the food: we started with the calamari: it was exactly what you've come to expect from deep fried squid (not my pick), and the sauce was fine. The Caesar salad was just okay: the homemade dressing lacked pizzaz, and the croutons were mediocre at best. The salad that came with the Pork Milanese was far better. The mild and hot wings were great: the "stupid hot" is just hot, but they were fried the way they should be and very yummy: not stupid at all. The cheese pizza is unique and perfectly baked, but maybe not the best for kids, as there's some "interesting" cheese on there, maybe a bit of swiss or something? I was disappointed they were out of deep dish dough. The Pork Milanese was the highlight of the meal, perfectly cooked and served over a lovely italian salad with very good dressing. The desserts were just okay: not worth the calories. All in all, I think it's worth a shot: ask what's best and enjoy the characters at the bar while you wait (a little longer than they predicted). All in all: better than Olive Garden: support local business!
