So good, love the brunch buffet

Great dining experience. Quality, "fancy" food (lobster stuffed flounder, black caviar, smoked salmon, lamb leg, etc) at an affordable price and a nice quite setting. Highly recommend!

The standard by which I rate all other brunch buffets around the country--and very few have equaled the Penn Stater. There's plenty of food, and a wide variety of it, but quantity alone does not make for a good brunch. The food at the Gardens is delicious, freshly-prepared, and in some cases, locally-sourced (Irving's bagels, Tait Farm spreads and Penn State Creamery cream cheese and ice cream, for a few examples). You can try some higher-end foods (caviar!) and enjoy some pricey treats (mimosas) along with all the delicious entrees, sides, salads, breads, desserts (my favorite--bread pudding) . . . and all of this comes at a very reasonable price. Sometimes there's live music too! It can be busy, so do what we do--arrive around 1 PM. There will be plenty of time to leisurely enjoy your meal. Pace yourself. And if you go home hungry, you did something wrong.

My wife and I had family visiting from Germany and Pittsburgh and we decided to take them to the Sunday Brunch in The Gardens. everything was PERFECT! Excellent selections, fresh food, outstanding service. The smoked salmon & caviar are worth the price itself! I can't think of a more outstanding value in State College. And did I mention the very good Jazz Trio providing a nice musical backdrop?

Went for the dinner buffet because I had a buy one get one free offer through my WPSU membership. Absolutely everything was outstanding, from the cheese course to the salads and appetizers, to pasta so rich you could make a meal of that alone and steal so tender it cut with a butter knife, to an array of amazing desserts. The price is a little steep for day to day, but it's so good I'd suggest it in an instant for a special occasion.
