Our server was nice and fun. They were not overly busy. Took a bit for our food to come out. The seafood was cooked very good. The sides left a lot to be desired. The corn soggy, corn bread over cooked and baked potato on the cold side.

The reviews for this place are all over the place... Went for lunch. Polite and friendly host was also my waiter. The seafood chowder was thick, and a touch on salty side, but brimming with crab and fish bits and shrimp with a bit of a spicy kick. Baked oysters were loaded with cheese and bacon - enough topping leftover to hook up a baked potato for sure! This is like going to a neighbors house, the food is satisfying and down home. If that's what you are in the mood for, there should be no complaints!

The Original Steamer is by far my favorite seafood restaurant in the Beaufort area and the price for the food is excellent. I recommend the Steamer over all others, their staff is friendly and it's a cozy place to spend an afternoon dining on some southern seafood. Located on Lady's Island.

Ate there twice on a recent visit. Great local "dive" in the best sense of the word. Had great service and food.

My family and I (four of us) came to this restaurant, thinking to have a nice dinner. The food took some time to get here, but there were only a few others there. My mom’s boyfriend’s food was only half there. However, our waitress apologized about a million times and gave him 2x as much food. My burger was pretty good, but the fries were pretty lukewarm and over cooked. Was not one of their best days, but I would recommend this place. The waitress was excellent.
