Delicious and extremely enthusiastic and personable Executive Chef and Chef Du Cuisine. Service was impeccable , making for a perfect evening. Even walked away with a copy of the She Crab Soup recipe !

My wife and I stayed at the Francis Marion and had breakfast here everyday for a week. The food was phenomenal and the service was fantastic. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in Charleston!

It was awesome, service was great, food was great also. Everything about this place was top notch !!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT

Not sure what all the complaints are about, other than they seem to be upset with service or breakfast. We went for dinner, and the food was amazing! The she crab soup needed a little salt, but other than that so rich and creamy (our waitress asked if the soup was warm enough because they add an extra scoop of crab meat, which cools the soup down). We got the fried shrimp appetizer, and I ordered a side of crab cakes. Both were amazing, but I thought the crab cakes won. I got the short rib dinner, but subbed mashed potatoes out for creamed kale (good flavor, but still undecided on how I feel about the texture of kale lol). The short ribs were so flavorful and the sauce was scrumptipusly garlicky. My husband got the shrimp and grits...took a few bites to decide that it was awesome because the sauce was strong. We got the peach cobbler, and that was the only mediocre thing we had. We loved our waitress, Sarah, and if you go you should request her! Awesome meal, especially for those looking for an "affordable" gourmet meal.

Very not good. The food was either bland or unpleasant and the service was mediocre at best. The she crab soup was very bad. The baked brie appetizer was borderline - barely warm, not much flavor. The catfish entree had no flavor, the salmon entree was so dry and the "risotto" that came with it was barely edible. However the white Zinfandel was tasty and light.
