I've been going to this place for decades. I love a fish camp. Yes there's greasy food and really if you don't know what you're going to eat (fried fish, shrimp, etc.) then maybe this isn't your cup of tea. On the whole I'd give Catawba (known locally as The Fish Camp) a five star review for service a D the food, because I know what I'm going for. My mother wanted to come here for Mother's Day because there's plenty of seating and we figured the lines wouldn't be that long. We were wrong, but you know what? That's okay. We stood in line for thirty minutes to an hour in 90° heat to wait our turn. Then came the folks with reservations? Really? This is a family restaurant in the South. Reservations?! Okay. We're patient. We make it to second place in line and the family in front of us (mother, grandma, three small children) get seated. Great! Those kids were troopers! Then we step up and see there are empty boiths, clear tables and are told we'll "have to wait while the hostess goes outside and checks to see if there are customers with reservations." Nope, Moms not having it, the rest of aren't either. After a few words back and forth we were seated but the hostess expressed her displeasure by slamming down menus and giving a good bit of side eye. I've known my mother MY WHOLE LIFE (obviously) this was not a good idea. But, good food and our waitress WAS FANTASTIC as most of the wait staff usually is. Get rid of that hostess that was working Mother's Day 2018. I won't be back.

Salt and pepper catfish is incredible and cooked to order. Seafood platters can not get any better. Tea also. Very nice and attentive Micheala.

Overall great experience. Service was excellent. My only problem was the fried flounder was a little dry, but throw some tartar sauce on it and it's good to go.

If you are looking for great service and great food this is a wonderful place. The fish is great for the price and the servers are awesome!

Food was hot and very tasty. Food tasted fresh. Service was slow. I will go back. I would recommend others to dine here.
