Truly some of the best barbecue I've ever tasted in my life... The location is not only quaint and unique it is truly historical and interesting... A basement of a side alley building... That smells delicious with all the hickory smoked barbecue and taste even better... The long Legacy of waiters there that have worked for 20 30 and 40 years... With their parents and with others... Speaks to the stability and the quality of this establishment... You don't keep people working for you for 40 years unless you're making them happy... And they're making the customers happy... Exceptional food exceptional Place 5 stars

There is no shortage of BBQ places in Memphis, but Rendezvous is always at the top of the list. The history permeates the atmosphere and amplifies the overall experience. Everything on the menu is legit BBQ, but you're there for the mainstay -- the slow smoked dry-rub ribs. Perfection. Personally, I think their mustard slaw is one of the greatest side dishes of all-time. Enjoy!!!

The staff is low key, polite and efficient. Our group of four had about a twenty minute wait. Once seated, we enjoyed the decor and memorabilia dating back to the 40s. The red and white checkered tablecloths really set a mood for some barbecue! The rib and brisket combo was a great plate of food. The dry rub was excellent. The slaw and beans accompanied perfectly.

So here is the deal. Everyone will tell you to go here because it’s the best ribs on the planet. I would not go quite that far. The ribs are good but not what most people expect because they’re dry. There are 2 sauces provided and i opted for the spicy one, that was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit but get there early, the line grows fast.

I know this is a legendary place, but I just wasn’t SUPER impressed. Yes, it was good, but I just don’t get it. I had the BBQ nachos, and I asked our awesome waiter (big white guy with a beard and southern accent) if I should get chicken or pork and he suggested both. It was very good! My younger brother had ribs which he enjoyed. He was disappointed at the small amount in the large order. He said he liked the ribs at Graceland better. The alley is yucky, and the best way to park is valet for $8.
