I have eaten here many times for lunch & dinner. This is my favorite restaurant to dine @ when in Abilene. This is a local gem located downtown & provides fabulous food & fantastic service. There are many food options with good prices. Portions are fairly large so splitting an entree is recommended. The chicken fried steak is not to be missed & I recommend splitting it as it’s a large portion. The Beehive salad is fabulous & I always order it. The ice tea is just how someone from the South will love. This is a very nice restaurant for business or pleasure. It’s not too loud so you can hold a conversation. Nice decor and reasonable prices. They do not seat incomplete parties so plan accordingly. Parking can sometimes be a challenge during lunch.

We hadn't been to the Beehive for a few years due to previous lackluster experience. Was anxious to give it another try after hearing good reviews. Had one of the specials and it was good, not great though, and my wife had a seafood which also was good but not great. Perhaps we aren't ordering what they are best at, but we expected better. The service and atmosphere were fine and food good, just did not think it lived up to expectations for what is considered a fine eating establishment in Abilene.

I've been coming to Beehive for the last year and their food, drinks, and service never disappoint. A must have is their Long Island Iced Tea. It's the strongest and best tasting I've had. On this particular visit I ordered a house special... Parmesan crusted Balsamic Chicken with Sweet Potato, Broccoli, and Cauliflower. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the veggies were as well (not overdone like most places do their veggies). My only qualm was the small amount of shredded cheese on the veggies, but I was able to remove it easily. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Awesome place to grab something to eat. Very nice atmosphere and the wait staff was top notch. My first time to eat here and was very happy about it. When I'm able to come back again I'll be making this place a must stop to eat at. My guest were very satisfied and happy about this choice

Where do I begin? Warm greeting upon entry and an honest answer about wait time (50 min). Gorgeous building with history. Bar waiting area was pretty full but we did acquire seating after about 15 minutes in the bar area. Also waiting area in the foyer, but hey, there was a bar so....Tasty, well made cocktails and prompt service. There was table service in the bar but the bartenders were pretty busy so we just went to the bar for refills. The food was amazing! I had the most tender, melt in your mouth, cut of beef I have ever had in my life! And I am definitely more of a chicken person but that Chatauxbirard may have converted me! The soups are all homemade and didn't disappoint. I only wish I had had room for dessert. The service was impeccable and our waitress was welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly. We do not travel to that area often but will most certainly be returning to The Beehive!
