Best restaurant in B/CS. Hands down. And this is coming from someone who has lived here for almost 20 years and probably been to every place, even those that have come and gone. Obviously the prices are on the high side but it is more than worth it. The atmosphere, the service, the drinks, all top notch. We've gone there for many date nights and just sat at the bar and had appetizers and some of their premium drinks. But if you're looking for some incredible food, there is nowhere in town that compares. Everything we've had is amazing. Appetizers, desserts, but NOTHING beats their amazing steaks. They come with 4 homemade sauces to sample and you'll find yourself thinking each one is better than the last, even after you've tried them all. If you have a social occasion to celebrate or just want an impressive date night, this is the place.

Okay, so let's start off with something candid: this place is expensive. Yes, there is outstanding food, but there is no question that you will drop a lot of money here. Expect about $100 per couple if you each only have one drink with your meal. Now, let's talk about the food, because it is excellent. When you tell the server that you want your steak "stupid rare"... that's exactly what they do. It was wonderful, with about a 0.25" sear on the outside and a definitively cool RED center. Amazing. We also had 3 different types of oysters for appetizers and the fried shrimp. Each of the oyster selections were freaking delicious. The shrimp were LARGE, but honestly, I would have preferred more of a scampi style... the batter and fry style just isn't for me, I guess. To each their own. Finally, just in case you didn't know, they have a LARGE whiskey and scotch selection, across a *wide* variety of prices. I had a "cheap" Oban and loved it.

Great atmosphere! I was very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. The food was first class, the tuna appetizer was especially delightful! With two Aggies and 30 years going to College Station, I will probably always regret that I haven’t eaten here before this. It’s our new favorite restaurant!

My son treated myself and his brothers to a beautiful night out at The Republic. The food was delicious with large portions. The steak was really tender and fill of flavor. I had a bowl of mushrooms that were out of this world! And the service was spot on. We wanted for nothing. We will definitely visit again.

Great place to have dinner and drinks. Unfortunately, the steaks are hit & miss. Sometimes they are the best you've had and a few times they are OK. Need to stay consistent. Customer service is good. A little dark inside but your eyes adjust.
