Food, service and atmosphere are great! I loved the sushi, it’s the best i’ve had in Killeen.

My birthday was on a Sunday this year and I wanted sushi...this seems to be the only place claiming to serve sushi open on a Sunday besides a buffet. The waitress seemed to really be nice and trying to please. Unfortunately she could not make up for the food. It shortly became very clear no one in this restaurant has ever been to Japan, and I'm not even sure they have ever eaten at a decent Japanese restaurant. I lived in Japan for 3 years, and the Japanese would have run away scared from this place. The most important part of sushi is actually the rice!...and this place FAILED! The rice was over cooked and mushy with no seasoning. It probably would have been put to better use as glue fixing things around the restaurant. They only have tuna and salmon when it comes to raw fish....I'm pretty sure McDonald's has more options for sushi. I ordered Chirashi (beautiful sashimi on top of sushi rice) but what I got was half way between poke and dog food. Little chunks of raw salmon and tuna and imitation crab with some kind of sauce and sesame seeds on top of some wilted lettuce. Beside it a cup shaped mound of glue-rice that had probably seen more combat action than most of the soldiers at Fort Hood. My husband got chicken stir fry noodles. He liked the chicken....but that was all. We also ordered calamari. The huge chunks of what ever it was were so big that the batter did not cook all the way through, so I was left with hot slimy fishy stuff and raw batter. Dr. Pimple popper has more appitizing stuff on their videos than this. Lastly the onions...SO MANY RAW ONIONS!!! I love onions, but good God! Big chunks of raw green onion in the miso soup, bug chunks of raw white onion in the salad, and nearly raw onion all over in my husband's stir fry noodles. I seriously needed a pack of gum at the end of this, not a fortune cookie! All in all I will not be back unless someone like Gordon Ramsey renovates this place...and even he may say F$&@ this! I have included a picture of what chirashi should be (on the left).....and what this place serves(on the right).

Atmosphere is the only reason for two stars. Disclaimer: I did not try the sushi. We split the chicken teriyaki and pork bulgogi for lunch. Both dishes came with soup and salad. The soup's broth was flavorful, but the tofu was cold in the center. The salad was really good because of a ginger-tasting / ranch-looking dressing. The chicken teriyaki $12 was not good. The chicken was very tender, but the teriyaki sauce was just wrong. The pork bulgogi $12 was more akin to fajita filling with no bulgogi sauce (sweet or spicy). No korean side dishes (Kimchi, sprouts, cucumbers, etc.). Each dish came with a large poetion of rice...it was mush (could be used as glue). Simply put, right across the street is Kimchi Hana which is a better value and much better food. Right next store is Vietnamese Pho which is a better value and much better food. We will not be back.

This place was absolutely mind blowing! At one point I had to reply "what now" because they kept bringing more food! For 50$ we fed two adults and a child and ended up being soo full that we left half of our sushi behind. Honestly the first time in my life I have gotten full on sushi! The waitress was sweet and extremely accommodating. At one point I believe the manager/owner came out to ensure our service was good. We were wildly hesitant coming here because of it's location, but I am pleased we did. I definitely got my sushi fix to last me for awhile. Soup was mouth watering, shrimp fried rice savory, and sushi tasted as if it hopped out of the sea on to our plate. Extremely flavorful and decorative meal, and at an amazing price. Thank you sushi I this is now our go-to sushi place!
