This place has gone downhill. They have a very limited menu now and the food is only average. It used to be our favorite Tex-Mex in Georgetown. We used to get the Nachos La Playa - one of their signature dishes - now it's not even on the menu. Hopefully they can return to what they had before it's too late. Unfortunately, we'll never know because we won't go back.

Usually the quality of food has been good here. I called in a to go order for fajitas at 5:30. My wife arrived later than the 20 minute window they told us at 6:00 to hear that her order got put in as a regular table and was not available ( not sure where it went). So 30 minutes after the order they put in a new order and put in on wrong. So now its 6:30 and I call up there because I am watching our our 4 month old at home. The owner Tony answers and while I proceed to tell him our situation in a very civilized manner and he tells me, " too bad go somewhere else," Please continue to go to Dos Salsas, Mas Fajitas, or El Charrito. Their reason was everyone is new and proceeded to charge an extra price for salsa and tomatoes. I am from Georgetown and never write bad review for local places because I want to see them succeed but this was one of the most unique customer service experiences I have experienced. Not once was there an apology or offer to comp any food. Just got our meal an hour and a half after we ordered it and the owner let the phone go to voicemail every time I called back or anyone else that was calling in.

Went there today with a group of 20. The cook came out of the back and complained stating they couldn't handle a group of that size without calling 24 hours in advanced and stormed off. Very rude and refused to serve the party. The restaurant had maybe 12 other people in it total. This was around 12:45PM. I live in Georgetown and they lost my business because of how rude the guy was. There are better ways to handle it. They could have said not all the food would come out at once. What would have happened if 10 groups of 2 showed up??? Added 5/13/2018 Thank you for the reply but I have at least 15 other people there that felt the cook was rude. He was so rude that your greeter was even saying she was sorry about him. By walking away and saying you must call ahead is refusing service.

Really disappointing. We used to love La Playa but it seems to have gone downhill in the past few months. At 7:20pm they were out of queso and after our first round of chips and salsa our waitress said they were out of salsa, too. Service was incredibly slow. My tacos came out 15 minutes before my mom's enchiladas and then the enchiladas weren't even hot -- the cheese wasn't melted inside. Our waitress was nice but constantly absent and we had to ask multiple times for utensils/napkins and a chip re-fill. I do want to note that Tony, the owner came by the table but this was early in the meal prior to our issues and we didn't see him after so we didn't have a chance to discuss. I'm glad to see the owners trying to check in and hope they take the issues seriously.

We always enjoy the food here. I dropped to 4 stars because the enchiladas I got on the last trip were just a pile of mush and not edible. They were shorthanded that night also and you could tell, but it happens from time to time. Robert has a great voice and we really enjoyed his music. Even though we don't understand what he is singing about, you can feel the message of his song. We will continue to return and most likely just get the food I normally order next time.
