I hadn't eaten here in about two years. I couldn't remember why, so I tried it again today. I remembered why quickly. My total was 14.08 for an average sized sesame honey chicken with mediocre "fried rice". What they call a side of fried rice is basically white rice with some egg and sit sauce. It's pretty bland. The chicken was overcooked and tough. I don't think I can dine here again.

Quit going to the Highland Village Empress of China 2 years ago, as the food quality had declined precipitously. Went back today, hoping it had improved, but it was the same mushy, over cooked food with poor flavor. No one was in the restaurant at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. The Irving location is far better, but too far away. People saying this is good food must not be familiar with good Chinese food. This used to be good, but no more. Don’t waste your money.

Been here a few times. I like good hot sour soup, and love shrimp toast. Prices are a bit high, but I can't find shrimp toast at most places. Last time I went I got the soup, toast , and an iced tea. Never received a refill on the tea and even told the cashier about it when checking out. She said "sorry" and that was it. Very unpleasant how that was handled.

I am from New York City. I am in Dallas for business. Today, we visited Empress of China located at 1913 Justin Rd, Flower Mound, TX 75028 for lunch. I have high expectations on restaurants that friends recommend me. Thus, we drove about 30 miles to get here. We ordered few dishes that the restaurant manager recommended. We enjoyed them very much. The food was not too salty or sugary. I was very pleased that they seem to be using good cooking oil and no MSG. I have a very sensitive stomach so as soon as I eat oily (specially bad oil) or MSG added food, I can feel it quckly. Only one minor recommendation is about the bok choy dish. It felt a bit overcooked to me. Overall their food was great and I recommend anyone to give a try if they are in Dallas area.

Hadn't eaten here for a long time but recently ate there and found food to be among the worst Chinese food inhave ever had. The egg drop soup was nearly all water with no flavor. The egg rolls were completely filled with nothing but shredded cabbage. We had two different meals. The shrimp dish was mostly breaded and uneditable. The almost shrimp dish was swimming in dark sauce and was tasteless. Would never go back to this restaurant.
