Our group of five had a dinner at the Steamboat House. They have an extensive wine list and mixed drinks. The Ribeyes and Filets were tender and juicy. Mine was cooked just the way I like it. Be sure to take time and look at all the history on display in the waiting area. Our waitress, Savannah was a great help with ordering. Be sure to leave room for dessert. We couldn't choose so the five of us ordered 6 desserts and we were very happy we did! Stop in, meet the owner and have a great meal!

This is a great place for a special meal or formal occasion. The food is consistently good and the service has been top-notch both times my wife and I have visited. The decor and theme are interesting and tasteful and the atmosphere is surprisingly intimate. On price, I would say they have options to suit most tastes - a couple can have a nice meal and leave a generous tip for less than $150 out-the-door, although the menu leaves room to spend and enjoy as much more as one desires...

The restaurant is very interesting in Texas history memorabilia. However, it smells like old carpet and no staff seemed happy to be there. 8 oz Filet was undercooked. Medium rare was ordered and medium raw was brought. Lobster tail was added and it was cold, tough and slightly overcooked. House salad was wilted and unremarkable. Our waiter was very good and food came out fast. Cocktails were good as well. I know they can do better than this. Perhaps an off night?

Worth seeing, but not a high end steakhouse. Very loud and service was extremely terrible. With reservations weeks in advance it took us 3 hours to get in and out. It took 35 min to get a drink order and another 20 to have it to table. Forget about refills on wine. We tried to get them to bring the next round when they left the 1st. Still had to wait. Steak was good and reasonably priced. Tables and untincles appeared very used. We did that done that and most likely won't be back. Many other great steakhouse in area that are much quieter and better service with just as good if not better steaks. But it's worth experiencing a historical Texas steakhouse once.

I've NEVER been to a restaurant that was set up as a historical society!!! I highly recommend this fine dining steakhouse as the ultimate experience!! I'd rather not say too much as it may spoil your experience. I'll just say that if you like history of our great country and like artifacts, old paper articles, great art paintings, etc.original money of the earliest 1800's. Wow!!! And the menu was something that you will have difficulty to choose from as ALL the steaks are of the best cuts!! I thought to myself I might as well try the desert and I will tell you the BEST creme Brule EVER!!! Get ready to be schooled about the History of the city of Sam Houston!!! ☆☆☆☆☆
