Went there to eat on Mother's Day and a man behind the counter told me I'd either have to belly up to the bar or find someplace else to eat because they were full. he was not very nice about it. I have always loved going to Ward's.. but I don't think I'll be going back because that was rude. He could have been a little bit nicer or a little bit more polite and offered apologies instead of telling me find somewhere else to eat.

Just went a few days ago. Ordered breakfast, 1 person in my group wanted over easy eggs. They brought back scrambled. The eggs were rubbery, hashbrowns should be cooked a tad longer. Chocolate milk needs to have less syrup in it. I've eaten here several times in the last few weeks. Think it's different cooks. First time I tried this place, I ordered the steak and eggs. I asked for well done and received way under cooked (still bloody). Sent it back and after about 5 minutes it was cooked right. The food isn't that bad, but they could use a refresher on cooking.

Good place to eat. Food is good. Great prices. Some of the waitresses are friendly and some are not though.

Clean restaurant, w/tight but clean restrooms. The best thing about Ward's is the comfort food. Nothing fancy but it tastes good & sticks-to-the-bone. Cozy, compact dining area w/ comfy booths & several tables. Kind, attentive wait staff. Ward's is a favored standby on Clarksville St at Collegiate Dr. Local work-crews often end up at lunch time there, several retirees, moms w/children & even college kids. Right across Clarksville St from PJC. • When a teen & later as a college student my maternal grandmother "Nana" occasionally took me here before it was "Ward's." So I was favorably disposed toward Ward's before I even darkened the door.
