So while out and about on a Friday afternoon (4.6.18) locals said to visit this place. Since its been open since 1984 we happy went. Full disclosure it was after the "lunch rush" counting us there was 4 tables 1 waitress. At first service was fast. The waitress was nice and friendly nut when we asked about the lunch special she lost interest in us. We both order the lunch special, the lasagna and my wife ordered a salad and waited. We were served bread brushed with a olive oil lite garlic and Italian seasoning butter it was yummy. When our lasagna was severed we asked for more bread. The salad wasn't served so we asked about it and was told " I forgot, we rarely serve salad at lunch". As she was walking off she asked if we still wanted it, we her no. We thought she was getting a bread but when she came back to refill out tea and water finally she the said " oh your bread" we were not happy we sevice was poor for 4 tables , the lasagna was tasty but a little dry could use more sauce. 2 stars.

Attentive staff, excellent food and great atmosphere. This place is somewhat pricey by RGV standards, but it is worth it. My spouse likes me to bring her here for special occasions. They do offer vegetarian options on their menu and the comp'd bread is great as well. It is directly across from the lighthouse so an easy place to find. I cannot comment on the bar portion of this establishment as I have only seen it on my way to the restrooms from the restaurant.

The complimentary garlic bread is delicious. There was one waiter to handle the entire restaurant, with too many people. My companions meal, a vegetarian type lasagna had to be returned because it was cold. I had the cioppino, red sauce too thick and salty. It tasted like it came out of a can. My first soda had too much soda water. Food and service isn't that good.

Food was ok. Not very hot. Service seemed scattered and confused. Not super busy when we went

Well this is my opinion. We ate about 1:30 on Friday and there were 4 active tables. We both ordered the lunch special, meat lasagna and my wife ordered a caesar salad. The free bread was awesome, it was so awesome we asked for another basket with our 2 meat lasagna specials and caesar salad. Well it was our turn to be served all we got was our 2 meat lasagnas, no salad no extra bread basket. It seem to take an eternity to get the waitress attention so maybe 3 minutes. She ask "what can I get you" and then she said "oh your salad, we don't serve salad at lunch so a forgot", thats after writing down our order. She walked off then asked "You still want the salad" we both just said no. It wasn't until she came back she said oh your bread. The bread was the best, the lasagna was good but both agree it was just a bit pastie. 3 stars on this visit.
