ABSOLUTELY, HANDS-DOWN, THE BEST Chicken-Fried Steak IN THE ENTIRE U.S. of A.!!! Sounds weird I admit but the best Insider tip I can give as a born and raised Houston Texan, you must have the chicken fried steak with the white gravy of course, now Heinz 57 specifically drizzle on top to taste and enjoy that Texas twang you've heard so much about! Get the two sides come with it, mashed potatoes with brown gravy though, and I recommend the fried okra as well! You will not be disappointed completely comfortable atmosphere family-friendly same people same family since the 60s I love it!

Been going here since I was a little boy. Close to 20 years. The dirty donkey is my all time favorite. Shredded chicken is great here. I love their mango margaritas and strawberry margaritas. I enjoy their 3 piece cheese enchiladas for lunch. Beans and rice are actually yummy and worth eating here. They aren't just to fill the plate!

The people at Goodson's Cafe are so gracious. Last Friday was sort of a Girl's Dinner Out. I stood waiting, the Hostess asked to seat me. I explained my friend was late. A few minutes later they asked again. They assured me they would bring her back. Our server was so attentive. My friend had Chicken Fried Steak and I had a hamburger. The food was excellent and so reasonable. Goodson's Cafe is one more reason why Tomball is a great destination.

We went on Mother's day (7 of us) so I expected a long line and I thought it would be so when we got there & were in line behind an entire little league baseball team & their parents, etc. But surprisingly, they were all seated pretty quickly and so were we! The food, of course, was fantastic. (I had the chicken fried steak, of course 😁) Our waitress was also fantastic, the orders were all correct and I had a wonderful mother's day with leftovers to eat the next day! 👍😊👍💕

I ordered the chicken nachos. Not a good choice. After all it’s not a Mexican place. However it certainly could have had a reasonable amount of grilled chicken on it but it didn’t. The guacamole was good.
