El Mexsal is a fusion of Mexican and El Salvadorian cuisine. It's on an old corner of Provo in a small old business park that's been around forever, surrounded by pawn shops and a laundromat. It's one of those places that you might look at and think to avoid, but don't. The food there is cheap, and it doesn't taste cheap, and you definitely get your money's worth. You must try the pupusas and the tamales at least once, but everything on the menu is fantastic. And it's got personality that definitely makes it an icon in Provo.

This is a very good blend on Mexian and El Salvadorian food. It's fairly unknown around the Provo area because it's south of center, but it is some of the best food in the whole valley. I'm from California, so I know my Mexican food and it definitely doesn't disappoint. The best part is probably the meat, and no matter what you order it's sure to be good.

I love El Mexsal! I've gotten their papusas for years and those are wonderful and delicious. I've been trying their other food and am happy to say it's all good so far. My husband was pleased to see their food was authentic and very much to his liking. We plan on coming back many times.

This is one of the best Mexican-Salvadorian restaurants I've ever been to. The food was great, the staff was really nice and fast even though it was a very busy evening, and it has a really cool feel and vibe. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is in search of a great meal.

I went there with some buddies for lunch. It was very crowded which is usually a good sign. They give you chips and salsa which is pretty tasty. I ordered the papusas. My favorite had pork, beans and cheese. I’d never tired them before and I really enjoyed them. Really I’d recommend this place for an inexpensive buy tasty lunch.
