Single Pebble is a culinary delight. We enjoyed a family dinner for 12 and could not have been more pleased. The staff provided guidance for our selections and quantities ordered, making sure our table knew which dishes were gluten free. The food was absolutely delicious, from soup to appetizers and main course selections. Our water glasses were never empty as the wait staff were attentive. Don't miss this place on your visit to Burlington.

The service was attentive, friendly, and polite. The bathrooms were clean and well taken care of. Lovely atmosphere and delicious authentic food! The fried oyster special and the shrimp accompanying our noodles were cooked to delicate PERFECTION. Even the microwaved leftovers the following day were satisfying. We felt the sorbet dessert we ordered was unusually sweet and closer in texture to water ice but still enjoyed its thoughtful pairing with a crunchy sesame seed edible bowl. The noodle dish we ordered was a tad salty but we considered perhaps this may be intentional to reflect authentic cooking? The flavor of the chicken dish we ordered was out of this world! Though a little pricey, A Single Pebble is definitely a hidden gem if searching for an alternative to the usual Vermont cheddar, bacon, and maple syrup infused menu!

Starting with the bored careless presentation of the $40 special, the condescending “enjoy your wine” as glasses were plunked down to the almost comical dragging of my used napkin off the table behind him, it was obvious at least one of the servers needs a new job. The 2 small plates, Dry fried green beans and classic Asian green salad were delicious and left me looking forward to my main, Three Pepper Scallops. So disappointing. “White wine sauce” appeared as brown cornstarch thickened glop reminiscent of bad suburban take-out. My co-diner’s Barbecue Hanging Pork was better, but lacked the piquancy hoped for. Fourteen years ago I was wowed by the quality of the food here, but last two visits have killed any desire to return.

In the past I have had good meals at Single Pebble. I do not frequent this restaurant often and went last night but am wondering if they have a new chef and/or new management. Our waiter was just okay, a little stand- offish for being in a service position. Didn’t offer to tell us about the specials or explain anything; he had a very flat affect. He took a long time to come to our table and take our order. The food was very salty tasting. The best Thing we ordered was the green bean side dish. The mock eel was way too salty. The prices seem very expensive and frankly we were disappointed in this dinner and the experience. I’m probably not returning any time soon or recommending this place any longer.

What a wonderful dining experience! The staff are efficient and incredible at their jobs. The food is, hands-down, the best Chinese food I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. The familystyle serving method makes every meal and experience and a blast. They accommodated our group of 24 with ease, grace, and kindness. Thank you very much; this restaurant is a gem!
