We like Applebees as a general rule. I like the low calorie options that are friendly to weight watchers like me. My daughter loves the appetizers. This one however was weird in that that only give you a fork when you come in. If you want a knife you have to ask. We are there two days in a row and this was the case both times. Almost all of the wait staff seems new. When l tried to compliment one of the waiters to the manager, the manager came out but seemed annoyed.

Went for lunch, 15 mins to get seated and they weren't crowded. Quickly got and delivered our drinks, but took forever to come back and take our food order. I could understand if they were busy, but you could see her standing at the bar talking. The booth she sat us in was all ripped up with stiff pieces of vinyl sticking up.. when we said something, she said they'll have to slap some tape on it. My steak was overcooked, the broccoli hard and tasteless. Waitress never came back and when I was finally able to get her attention for the bill, she never asked how it was and at that point, we just wanted to leave.

Came to this location for March madness basketball and half price apps after 9pm. The apps were fresh and hot. The service was very solid. I don’t think the server meant to do this, but she partially made it feel like she was rushing us out of there by around 11pm though they close at midnight. Still not a bad experience.

My husband and I have eaten at different Applebee's locations and have never experienced one as dirty as the one in Lexington, VA. We had to sit at a table after 8 hours on the road and listen to a loud server, non-stop talk about his body being mangled in a car accident, his mother dying and how his sister is not his sister. SERIOUSLY...Not something you want to hear over dinner since the servers voice was so loud. Service was extremely slow. BAD EXPERIENCE.Thank God we don't live in this area and actually have a decent Applebee's in our hometown.

It's not that I hate Applebee's...just this Applebee's. The service is horrendous, I really don't understand why anyone goes there twice. The food is questionable, I've been to many Applebee's and had perfectly good meals. This place always feels like the ingredients were slapped together by someone who has never seen food before. Does it look this way because the people in the kitchen don't know any better? Or did it fall on the floor? Or was it served to someone else who sent it back and it's been sitting for a day until they brought it to me? Maybe any of these. Everyone who works there seems pissed. I guess I would be too if I worked there. They probably feel like they need to wash their hands after they give the customers the food. Or they should. Maybe if there is quality control from Applebee's corporate, they will swoop down and figure out how to fix the 49 things that are wrong there (including the cleanliness of the carpet. uggghh!) But I think there must be no Quality Control God or this wouldn't have gone on for as many years as it has. Do yourself a favor, keep driving, there are great places to eat in downtown Lexington.
