The food here is good, I've eaten it before and had it from their food truck, so no big complaints there. Our last visit, however, was somewhat ruined by mediocre service and some terrible live music choices. Our waitress spent quite a big of time having long conversations behind the bar and repeated trips to chat with the band and bring them drink refills. As for the band, we arrived for a fairly early dinner (4:45) and shortly after a band started setting up. We were then treated to about 25 minutes of banjos being tuned and mandolins warming up. When the band finally started the entire dining room was filled with the sound of two people singing and five (!) instruments playing, all through amplifiers. Any conversation was impossible, it was far far too loud. Wolf's is not a terribly large place and the band was way out of proportion to the space. They need to book more reasonable bands or start the shows at a more reasonable time so people who just want to eat can do so and then leave.

Excellent food and wonderful service. Just a few minutes of the interstate and well worth the detour. Very reasonably priced barbecue. Would return again. Thanks!

Food is downright awesome. FINALLY a good bbq joint in SWVA. The pulled brisket was simply on point. I don't normally eat beef bbq on a bun, but I need to stop for a second and comment on their high quality bread. If buns are your thing then they got the good stuff. A $7 beef sandwich (regular sized, but they have a jumbo) nets you an enormous amount of meat, on a solid bread bun. I can't speak for their sides because I was too focused on how well rendered the fat was in my brisket sandwich. Perfectly marbled, perfectly smoke charred. If I could do this at home I would. This place is churning out culinary art. I also need to speak briefly about the staff as well. I am from out of town, and was looking for a good bbq joint for lunch. The staff here was very friendly, very welcoming to a new newbie. If I could rate 50 stars I would.

If a place is really busy, I can see about service being slow, it's expected. However, when it's slow and you hardly have 3 tables full, WHY?! do you waitresses sit at the counter and playon their cellphones?

Ok. Everyone knows Wolf's has great barbeque. Just wait till you try their delicious cheeseburger.
