This review would have easily been five stars were it not for one of their managers, Rachel. I'm not sure what her problem was, but she was very rude and disrespectful. All we wanted to do was celebrate my birthday and have a great time. We had reservations at 5:00, and we were seated at 5:05; after we paid our tabs at the bar. We waited for our first course for about an hour but hadn't noticed, because we were having so much fun! However, Rachel ruined that great vibe by storming over to our table just after 6:00 and told us that another party had a 7:00 reservation, so we needed to hurry-up (while tapping her wrist). Keep in mind, we hadn't even finished our FIRST course out of three (Norfolk Restaurant Week deal). I must admit the food was delicious, our server (Megan) was amazing, and the other manager (Perrin) was awesome. The bar tender was terrific as well. The evening would have been perfect if Rachel was not in the picture. We complained several times about Rachel and asked that she not speak to our guests again. I was so embarrassed, because Big Easy was one of my choices as it has been on many other occasions as well. My friends said they won't return, but I may give Big Easy another try, because of Perrin and the great relationship I've had with them in the past. I'm still mulling over it.

Very nice atmosphere. My oven roasted striped bass was bland and rather small for the price. However the whole red snapper that my dinner partner had was quite tasty and more than enough to share.

Good food but horrible customer service. Visited this restaurant last night with 15 coworkers.we arrived at 4:30 and had drinks at the bar downstairs. Our reservation was for 5:00. We were seated and ordered from the restaurant week menu. An hour into our meal we had only eaten our first course of the meal, when a rude general manager came over to our table and began rushing us to finish our food. She told us that we had a 2 hour limit for our meal. We explained to her that we had not gotten the rest of our meal so we could not leave. The atmosphere in the room totally changed for me. My group felt singled out and harassed. Especially after she came back over rushing us again being very rude and nasty. I have not felt like this before in any establishment that I have visited. The whole experience showed me that I was not appreciated or welcomed back. I will not be returning, beware of this rude general manager!!

Fantastic food! I had the jambalaya - had a good amount of spice (I like a lot of heat), and was loaded with scallops, shrimp, chicken and andouille sausage. Was served in a cast iron skillet - kept every bite warm of the very generous serving. My partner had the seafood platter - was able to get some things fried and others broiled, just as she liked it. She said it was a great meal, too. We had the beignets for dessert, with excellent coffee - felt like I'd been transported to Cafe du Monde! This place is the real deal, don't miss it if you're in Norfolk.

Went on a Tuesday, was seated on the bottom deck, ordered the Cajun ribeye medium rare with sautéed spinach in garlic I believe with potatoes. The meal was pricey but it was worth it,large portions and the steak was tender and the red wine sangria was perfect. Definitely would go again
