Recently bought a piece of property in Rocky Mount. Went by this El Rio to try it. Not as good as the El Rio in Roanoke at Hunting Hills. I wonder if this El Rio is owned by the same people...? They got my order wrong and then they tried to blame it on me. When I got the correct order, the food was OK..but not hitting on much. I got quite the bad impression of this place because I overheard 2 employees talking about a customer whom had just left. The customer had been eating alone, and he was complimenting their food. He thought it was very good and told them a few times.. "I really liked the food.. great job guys". The waiter was just like "ok, thanks". After the man left, the waiter was telling another employee in Spanish "That guy was f**king annoying"..... wow. I would think this El Rio in Rocky Mount would be very happy if a customer complimented their food, even if they repeated it several times. Instead, they insulted the poor man behind his back after he had left the restaurant, calling him annoying. I will not be returning.

Somehow they made fajitas that had literally zero flavor which was slightly impressive due to looking the part of great tasting fajitas. I'd recommend spending less time on making the world's longest sizzling hot plate and more time on good food.

Best Mexican restaurant in the area. Food is great and comes out fast and prices are fair. Grewt selection of drinks as well. Just wish there was an outside seating area.

Love this place. I try to get other things to sample different foods, but I keep returning to the Texas Fajitas!! Yummy yummy yummy!!!

We are so pleased that this restaurant has continued to serve good food in Rocky Mount. We had the fish tacos for lunch and we're pleased. The price was good and the portions small as we like them.
