For date night we decided for a dinner and a movie in Yelm. After driving around (for a few minutes) we decided on Mr. Doug's... it was busy when we first walked in but we were greeted and led to a table immediately. The food and service was good. The waitress was nice and personable. This place isn't fine dining but definitely better than a Denny's.

This place has pretty good food all around. Their customer service used to be horrible, but today it was ok. We ordered a couple kids chocolate milks, when they arrived they were children's cups but were only half full. We asked if they could fill them up all of the way, since I am paying 2 dollars for it. The waitress told us no sorry they're the equivalence of a small cup....... I had a blank stare on my face.....small cup like a kids cup???? Or small cup like you measured this with a tbs measuring cup. Then they also charge full price for refills. Living in yelm, I would rather put up with the drive to Lacey for breakfast, but if I have no choice I'll endure.

My Wife & I tried their Prime Rib Special a couple of Fridays ago. Their advertised price was $16.95/ We were each offered baked potato loaded with what ever they offered. The dinner was fine until we received the bill. Instead of the $16.95 we were charged $19.25 each. When we questioned the bill our waiter stated He should have told us there would be an extra charge for the loaded potato's. This extra $2.30 for a loaded potato is simply not worth the expense! We are Senior Citizens and did not ask for any 10% discount as this was a Special so we figured it would not apply. To me this practice of charging more money without prior notice is unethical or a bate & switch tactic. I do not feel we will be back there for their Prime Rib so called Special. I should also state here that we have been to Doug's for Breakfast many times with very good service & good food for the money. However since that Friday a couple of weeks ago we have not returned to this place of business. I have called Mr. Doug's to ask to speak to the Owner or Manager but neither one was available. I questioned the cost of this loaded potato since their sign states one gets a choice of potato. The Woman on the phone stated the cost should have been $1.95 per potato which is still too much money on top of the fact a choice of potato was supposed to be included. Why then were we still charged an extra $0.35 more per potato above their $1.95 that was not previously stated before being billed. Go to the Golf Club in Yelm on Friday for a much Better Prime Rib Dinner! PS: For less money too!
