Unfortunately in order to review this restaurant I had to give one star. This place is terrible. One of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. Our sit down dinner turned into a take out because it took 50 mins for the kitchen to make my chili and salad. It took another 15 mins to box it up so that I could take it with me. The food was terrible. I had to throw it out. Please do not go to this restaurant. I’ll never get that hour back and sadly I’m so hungry that I’m now eating a bag of nuts that I bought across the street.

Too expensive for such a little menu, it was December 1st and the only choices were from Thanksgiving dinner (leftovers perhaps) the waiters were very nice but the food sucked. There are some restaurants around to choose from so drive a little for a better option.

We ate here thinking it would be convenient before boarding the Polar Express. Though we had a large party (13 people), we made reservations well in advance (several days). From the moment we arrived, however, it was clear we were in for a bad dining experience. As our party entered the dining room, we were not even met with a hello from the staff. It took 15 minutes before our drink orders were taken and another 15-20 before drinks were brought out...keep in mind we still have not been asked to order our food! We had been in the restaurant almost 90 minutes before we got our "food". My sister in law ordered the pan seared tilapia and it was brought to the table LITERALLY ice cold. Three of us ordered prime rib, of various temperatures, but not one was really edible. For example, I ordered mine medium and it was delivered about 10 minutes past "shoe leather". The mashed potatoes, which were the only side option for the night on all of our meals, were instant (and poorly made), many of us got cold corn as well. Dinner rolls were suppose to be served with all meals, but it wasn't until my wife finally voiced her displeasure that our group of 13 was presented with four (yes, 4!!!) rolls. Our server may have refilled 3 members of our party's beverages, though many requests were made. If the restaurant was busy or short staffed, this would not have irritated me so much, but there were two other tables seated by the time we were served (and one of them left before ordering because they had been neglected for so long). We would have left to eat elsewhere too, but due to the time we had to board the train, we didn't have time to go into Elkins to eat at this point. I have never written a bad review on a restaurant, and I have had plenty of experiences that would merit one, but this was BY FAR the absolute WORST dining experience I have ever had. I am embarrassed to have suggested this location to our family. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!
