Prices are alright, but somewhat high. The menu has changed often in the past, so if you like something it may not be there the next time you go. They sometimes have local musicians playing I believe on Fridays, and the fish fry I believe also only on Fridays is pretty good, expensive but you generally get a pretty good amount of stuff. The food itself has been good, though in years before it's been difficult to say because of the menu changes. At least the past two times I went the menu hadn't changed(we don't go there too often), and the fish fry has always been around.

Great food and excellent service! 1855 was my wife's choice of restaurant for her birthday and it's easy to see why. Their food is delicious (the burrito was better than those I've gotten at Mexican restaurants before) and the salmon she had was done just right. We'll be back here for sure!

The atmosphere is very nice and inviting. The $15 fish (we had baked fish) was sub par at best for a WI tradition. Very, very small portions served with red potatoes and coleslaw. We also ordered cheese curds which were "ok" I gave it 3 stars based on atmosphere alone. To be fair its the 1st visit and only food we have tried. No drinks ordered, bill $50 for 2 people. Step up your food game or lowering the hefty cost of your sorry fish fry.

Great old fashioned's, cheese curds, pizza and pasta. So far that's all weve tried on the three trips I had made to this grill. Each time has been a relaxed and peaceful experience which was perfect for a Saturday date night away from the crowded chains in Madison. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a new and unique dining experience that not only supports local dining, but also provides great food at reasonable prices!

Food was okay. I had the open face prime rib and the meat was edible as far as quality. The bread and potatoes were good as to quality. But everything was just barely warm. Drinks were good. Grasshopper was ok, have had much better. I would eat at your place again but would not order the prime rib or the grasshopper. Have been there many times and this was not one of the better ones. Have always had good pasta and good burgers.
