Been here a few times. Usually like the overall experience, but we think a big group impacted the level of service this time. Slower service was offset by good food and reasonable prices. Our group had a variety of their entrees, all good. Hope they work on getting your bill to you, maybe concurrent with cleaning off the table. You might want to ask for the bill early.

Their chicken and pork tacos can be very dry. You might need to order some extra drinks just to swallow your food. My friends and I are on the patio yesterday after a fundraising event. We go out to eat all the time and never find ourselves complaining about the food. Many of us complained to one another about how basic the food was. The Botanas in Walkers Point is a little better. The restaurant is clean and we enjoyed the beautiful day on the patio. The service was also good. However, the prices and the quality of the food is unfortunate because you can get way better food for less money at other Mexican restaurants.

Waited over an hour for our food. We let the manager know we just wanted to pay for our drinks and were unfortunately going to go someplace else for dinner and were asked not to come back. Other members of our group were willing to wait longer, and when they asked why it was taking so long were told the restaurant was busy making food for another event. The rest of the group than wanted to cancel their food and just pay for the drinks and the manager also told them not to come back. Very sad been here multiple times and never had a problem, but to wait for over an hour for our food when the restaurant wasn't even busy and than to be asked not to return is unacceptable. We were polite when leaving and willing to pay for what we had received, which unfortunately was only our drinks.

Food was fantastic, I had chicken fajitas and fresh guacamole. There was plenty of food and very reasonably priced. Pretty good size crowd for a late lunch. Would recommend anybody that like Mexican cuisine visit this place

On its own, Botanas is an interesting place with food that isn't bad with decent service. Compared to other Mexican restaurants in Milwaukee, there are better tasting, far more flavorful options than here. I ordered the pork tacos and was served dry chicken. Too hungry to send it back. They were more bland than tasty. Wife had the steak fajitas which were also on the bland side.
