Quaint little place with a descent breakfast. It does seem be more of a locals place and it might appear that they get preferential treatment, but I'm sure coffee and conversation are what gets the staff through a long day on their feet. Can't fault them for that. If you want fast food and no atmosphere, there's a McDonald's in Dodgeville. I left a star off because I haven't had lunch or dinner there yet, so I can't comment on those.

The Monty Cristo was really good. Good coffee. It was a bit warm in there as well. The Thursday we were there, there was only one wait staff. They have a lot of different pies and good diner food. Hash browns weren't crispy at all. Just saying.

We've been here before although years ago. This time, however, we sat down for at least 5 minutes at a table for 4 with no one to greet us. I was fine with that, but other people were taken care of before us that arrived after us. I assumed they were locals, and we are not. We ended up quietly getting up and leaving, and no one set a word to us. Honestly, I don't think I would go back.

Pointer has great food!! I almost always get blueberry pancakes, but can attest to the whole menu being tasty. Plus you always run into folks you know. Super charming.

Good food. Good service. Fair prices. We would eat here again.
