We have been here several times before and always enjoyed it. I originally rated Grasshopper as 5 stars. However, our most recent visit (2-27-18) was disappointing. While the food was very good as usual, they have changed their table service. When we walked in the bartender gestured to a basket near the door and told us to take our menus to any table, then come back up to the bar to place our order. I then had to remember my mother's order as well as my own so I could place the order and allow Mom to stay seated. I was asked to pay up front, which caught me by surprise and I had to return to the table to get my wallet. I was then given a plastic numbered marker to place on our table a la Culver's. Our food was delivered to the table in plastic carry out dishes. All my mother had to do was ask for the plastic cover to take the remainder of her meal home. Tacky, to say the least. The prices haven't changed from the last time we were there and yet I felt like I was at Dairy Queen. We will probably not be going back.

The food here is amazing! I have yet to eat anything that wasn't top notch, and the environment is warm and very cute. However...the hours make going here a nightmare, and they started serving lunch IN to-go containers. And you must order lunch AT the bar, even though you have a waitress throughout your meal...the food is good, but the rules are little weird.

Sitting here typing as I wait.....for my correct food order.....Was here a few months ago for the best breakfast. Returned for lunch and slightly disappointed in the quality and flavor of the pasta salad. Returned once again, excited for breakfast. Arrived at 10:50, no one greeted us even though there were 2 people standing behind the bar talking amongst themselves. Was eventually told to seat ourselves. After 5 min we were given menus and ordered coffee. Waited another 20 minutes for the waitress to return to take our order. After another 5 minutes she returned to inform us that we had to place a new order from the lunch menu, leave our table and order at the bar. Which took another 10 minutes. Received the wrong food, no one came to check on us, waited at the bar another 10 minutes to tell them my order was wrong. My food just came, after 1 hour wait, in plastic! My daughter's salmon burger remains half eaten - no flavor. WE WILL NEVER COME BACK.

If there is a lower rating than 1-Star, I would’ve given it. I go in for lunch today with my wife, and noticed a lot of changes from the customer service side (not menu). The bar tender asked us to grab our own menus, seat ourselves and come to her when we are ready to order. This is far from the friendly face that would normally greet us at the entrance, seats us, and then takes our order. When I went to place our order, I was asked to prepay, which is also different from all previous visits. When I asked about those changes, I got rude abrupt answers, that lead to mine and other customers departure without eating there. We used to give them a lot of business from our office, never more!!!

Interesting menu. Impressed with the mostly farm to rable approach. Had the BLT. It was outstanding!
