I have previously been to Thrive when it first opened and I had a great experience. My last experience was not, I had a reservation for a party of eight at 6:30. We arrived early and assumed we could wait at the bar until our table was ready. The bar was not even half full and the restaurant had many small and large tables open. Our drinks (tap beer and wine) took 15 minutes to be made. We waited until 6:30 only to sit at the open table behind us that had be unoccupied since we arrived. We had a great friendly waiter however, our food took an additional 45 minutes. I was very disappointed with the host, kitchen staff, food and bartenders. I will not be returning until Thrive improves their service.

Food was okay... out of both my and my boyfriend’s meals (fish sandwich & a burger) we would have chosen the appetizer instead. The fish didn’t have much flavor, and the burger wasn’t cooked to medium (pink)- it was well done. However, the Mediterranean Nachos were good. For the price, I may choose to check out another place next time. ✌️😎

From the time we walked in the door we were treated wonderfully!! Brandi our hostess asked us to move from a 20min wait to a 30 min so a family with a baby could have our table. We did. Brandi made sure we got our table on time. Faith, our bartender, was pleasant and attentive. Our waitress Reesa timed the courses of our meal beautifully, was inobtrusive, but always present when we needed her (she got me a 🍺 in 63 seconds). As a result of all staff's good service, we didn't just eat, we DINED and enjoyed our visit with friends.

Thrive Foodery is a unique experience that you can not find anywhere else in Wausau. The open layout gives it a modern feel. The food was very good. It does take a little longer to wait but that is because everything is cooked fresh. It is a bit overpriced but the experience and service is well worth it.

Ella F gave us great service and helped me build a lunch around my low carb needs. This is my favorite place to eat when I visit Wausau- the food is always so fresh. I usually get some variation of a salmon dish and have never been disappointed.
