The decor is dated and the restaurant is small, but don't let that dissuade you from visiting this hidden gem. The service is wonderful and the owners are genuine and friendly. Prices are reasonable to get this level of dim sum outside of Chinatown. The food is up there with the big restaurants in Chinatown as well, and all the dim sum is made in house. Washrooms are clean and parking is plentiful. A great place to hit that dim sum craving if you don't want to head downtown.

Don’t let the decor fool you. Magic Bowl has the best dim sum that we’ve ever had in Calgary. We went on a Saturday night and enjoyed fresh, hot and absolutely delicious dim sum, served by some of the kindest people in the business. We live in the deep SE, but it’s worth the trip. Already planning our next meal there.

This is my household's go-to Chinese takeaway, initially out of convenience but now out of satisfaction. Ginger beef, lemon chicken and sweet n sour pork are my family's staples; mine is the salt n pepper squid. Support family enterprise n check it out sometime...

My 6 and 11 year old grandsons would eat there every day if they could. The owner/server is so friendly and treats us like we are family. We eat in but I always make sure that there are lots of leftovers to take home.

A little hidden gem in South East Calgary. They have a very good and a very reasonably priced dim sum menu. I always thought you had to go the China town or international avenue for authentic Chinese food, but this place is proves that wrong. Highly recommended, will definitely come back.
