This review is for Parkallen pizza; we've been enraptured and haven't yet ventured to the other parts of the menu, even though they look great. A quick shout out to the staff, who have always been sweet and understanding as we navigate the relationship straits that is the picking of the toppings. There are few dilemmas as great, and as meaningful. I guess it goes without saying that pizza tastes much better when eating it right from the kitchen; delivery is foodie insult we inflict when we are lazy and hungry. Parkallen pizza is still very good when delivered, but in-house it was sublime! It has the most tasty crust I've long tasted in a pizza. The contributions of each ingredient (we shared a half Hawaiian and half meat-lover) could be noticed and appreciated. The hunnybunny's place is near-by, enough so that we've eaten in and picked up pie for transport home. More than once it's been an open question whether we can survive the seductive pizza smell filling the car or should we just pull over and dig in. You've been warned :-)

Such a cute little restaurant. Servers were great and the owner/chef even came out to talk to us. And the pizza was the best pizza we have had in town. We ordered the chefs daily special. Thin crust just the way we like it with prosciutto, arugula and tomatoes. Soooo good. We will definitely be back and tell our friends!

I’m writing this review not as a customer but as a (brief) former employee who was refused wages after quitting. Please dine somewhere else! If you do dine here, please do your server a favour and tip in cash to ensure they at least get that. I was hired at Parkallen as a server. Initially the owner seemed very nice and spoke to me about how the restaurant was a family atmosphere. It became apparent during my first shift that the kitchen becomes easily overwhelmed, especially by skip the dishes. About 3 weeks into my employment, they were behind on orders. I was on the phone with a “skip” customer who called to inquire where her order was and the owner/head chef became very agitated with me, eventually telling me “shut the *^** up. I don’t need to listen to people like you”. I didn’t want to cause a scene, so I worked out the end with my shift. The owner and I spoke afterwords and I said I wasn’t going to tolerate being spoken to that way and not to put me on next week’s schedule. To his credit he apologized and was understanding about it. I asked if I should come in 2 weeks ( the next pay day) to pick up my cheque. He said “I’ll try to get it done earlier for you. I’ll call you”. I did not hear from him and went to pick up my cheque after 2 weeks, on the day after the next scheduled pay day. He was surprised to see me and swore I had the wrong day. “You quit one week ago. Are you so messed up in the head that you think this?” I maintained the date was correct. Eventually he verified and confirmed I was right but said my cheque wasn’t ready. I was naturally upset and asked why? He said he didn’t have an answer and that he would call me. I wasn’t satisfied as he’d already made that promise to no avail. He said he didn’t deal with any of this, it was up to the accountant. I asked for the number for the accountant and he became extremely agitated. He told me several times to “eff* off” and to “get the ef** out” and “*eff**** your tips you’re not getting your tips”. He then said I was trespassing and threatened to call the police. I didn’t raise my voice. I didn’t swear. I just calmly asked for the money I an entitled to, and he repeatedly told me to “f*** off” and “you know what Rachael? I don’t like you. Get the **** out” It’s not a lot of money, but it feels horrible to be treated like that. I don’t want trouble; all I want is my cheque for at least the hours I worked if not the tips as well. It’s quite unfair to the customers who intended the tip go to me for the restaurant to steal it. I know the restaurant is going through cash flow problems, but it’s incredibly unfair to take that out on employees who have done nothing wrong.

This was by far my worst experience I have ever had eating out. I have never had to wait so long for a over cooked steak. We waited 45mins just for our drinks. No manager on staff, the waiter was clearly not capable of multi tasking. We walked in at 6:30 and was not able to leave till after 10pm because the staff could not figure out what belonged on what bill. The server lost some of our receipts and tried to double charge the group almost $200. I would honestly not waste your time.

10/10 would not recommend. Came in last week and the experience was just horrible. The food was bland and dry, and I could hear shouting from the kitchen throughout the evening. We asked for a fatouche at the beginning of our meal which we never got but later realized we had been charged for. Service was slow for how empty the restaurant was. Will not be back.
