Very authentic Hunan food here. Make sure you can handle your spices, a lot of dishes are very spicy! Lady boss is very friendly and chatty. Typical service of an Asian restaurant, but the authentic food makes up for it.

This is a real authentic Szechuan restaurant. I thought I was good with spice but I reached my limit with mild and medium spice dishes. I recommend the bone soup and their pork with "lotus-like-leaves"

This place needs more customers! I do thoroughly enjoy all manner of Chinese food, which Richmond is famous for. However, cantonese and other, more bland styles of food are more common. This restaurant was anything but bland. The dishes we had burst with flavour - spicy and sour pig intestine, spicy, savory, and garlicy bamboo and smoked meat, clay pot lamb that tasted buttery (and spicy, of course), and finally, a delicious pork broth soup. The food was so potent that I could (and did) use just a small handful of leftovers to a whole stir-fry of my typical home-cooked quality. Secondly, the three guests I ate with, also from Hunan, confirmed the authenticity. If anyone wants a taste of Hunan, I've been told that this is the real deal. Both the cook and the host actually were born and raised in the province, so they know what they're doing! If you like spicy food, and aren't put off by eating a slightly wider variety of meats than the typical western cuisine, you'll love this place.

Super spicy food, but a lot of flavour. The frog legs are a great dish, served Ina metal pot over a candle.
