Penang deserves a much higher rating 4.8+ . Very high quality entrees very consistent throughout the menu. Restaurant is very cosy and clean with great decor. Staff are very prompt, organized and friendly. Authentic Malay dishes for any occasion. Go support this hidden East Van gem!

This place has been there for a long time. The food is authentic. The service leaves something to be desired: it's a bit worst then what usually for Asian bistros. The prices has gone up considerably over the years. It's at the higher end for this type of restaurants/food. But, hay, Vancouver is an expensive city. The location is not bad, off the main drag of Marpole. Parking is usually not a problem.

The ambience of the restaurant was great. I went for lunch on a weekday. Only about 5-6 tables had customers. I ordered Chicken Laksa (Malaysian staple). While the broth was good the chicken pieces were cold and tasted just like plain stale chicken without any flavor. Seems that the chef prepared the Laksa broth, took chicken out of the refrigerator and just tossed it in before serving me. This was when the restaurant was less than half full. So not a great experience for me. The servers seemed busy and were not warm or hospitable. Take your chance and see if you have a better experience.

First time here! The food is super delicious, they were served fresh and fast, and prices are fair. Will come back again!

A nice Malaysian restaurant hidden in Marpole. Great food but, can be busy. Sometime the wait time can be long. Service can be slow. Parking is limited near the restaurant but can be found in the area.
