This restaurant serves good food and a lot of it. The servers are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. It does not have a flashy decor but its other qualities more than compensate for that. I rated it 4 stars because I don't give perfect marks. There is only one oerfect being and neither Jean's or I are Him. Thank you to Jean's just for being you.

My go to Chinese food place in the city. They are one of the rare places like John's Lunch that can get away with a bit of a 'dated' interior just for how damn good their food is. A #1withe beef friend rice substitute will always be my favourite choice there, though the others are great as well. I should also mention the servings they give you are absolutely massive for 11$ +tax. It's a rare occasion when I finish my plate there, so expect to take some home.

I don't know how this restaurant rates so low or why people dislike the food, but I think they're ordering the wrong things or have unreasonable expectations. I've eaten here dozens of times in as many years and have NEVER been disappointed, except maybe for the wait as they're usually quite busy, but I eat in or take out and have never had delivery. This place serves up great tasting food, and good portion sizes for a good price. Best dishes: Jean's Spicy Beef, the Beef flank noodle soup, veggie/beef/shrimp stir fried noodle dishes, Thai fried rice (great value), Mapo tofu, ginger beef with green onion, and spring rolls are delicious. There is a lot I haven't had here because the food I eat is so good I stick with it. Quality hasn't deteriorated since I started eating here over 10 years ago. Having lived in Taiwan and China I prefer the single dish meals at Jeans as I mentioned above, and not the American style lunch Combo often consisting of soy saucy rice, a few chicken balls and an egg roll. That is typical Canadian Chinese food that is mostly unhealthy and leaves you with a gross feeling afterward. You won't be disappointed by the Chinese menu at Jeans, so bring a friend who can read the menu and order away!

Normally awesome, but this trip was a little disappointing. I order what I normally get, combo #11 with the general tso chicken, but it was just missing it's normal kick. Still worth a trip if you like Canadian Chinese and big portions.

Very confused. Seriously, very confused. I swear to god I'm not making this up. A few weeks ago, I ordered a donair pizza from Xtreme Pizza nextdoor to Jean's. They delivered me a donair pizza and forgot the donair sauce. The driest pizza ever. Was thoroughly disappointed Just now, I ordered a sweet and sour chicken from Jean's... and they forget the sauce on the chicken! What is going on? Am I in the twilight zone? Is there a quantum sauce vacuum around this area of town? Why can these businesses not provide the requisite sauces? Look, I can see if it were a random sauce on the side specially ordered. But donair sauce COMES with donair pizza. It just. does. You order a donair pizza, and the sauce is supposed to be in little cups inside the box. Everyone knows this. Now I can maybe see a restaurant forgetting to put the sauce in the box like in the pizza situation. But how on Earth do you forget to put the sauce on an order like this? The order literally comes swimming in sweet and sour sauce by DEFAULT. That's like forgetting to put the tires on the car before you sent it out of the factory. It doesn't even make sense.
