The service is really fast and the food is pretty good. The soup is just a little more expensive than other pho places but only by a bit. A small is $8.50 for reference and the portions are pretty small. The first two pictures is the small and the third is a large. The last picture is the small on the right and large on the left (just for reference). Although the portions aren’t too generous, the food is still pretty good

BEWARE OF PORK We love this restaurant and often go there. The food is good, the place is clean and the staff is friendly. Having said this, we are Muslim and as such do not eat pork. Keep that in mind. We have been ordering the seafood egg noodle soup in "chicken" broth for some time. Today, something seemed suspicious. We could smell pork in the soup. 1) Upon asking the server, she said there IS pork. 2) Then she want back to the kitchen and said she spoke with the chef and there is NO pork. 3) We insisted and asked to send the dishes back (we are willing to pay for them anyway). At this point, the manager came, told us there IS indeed pork (chef was lying!) and that they now have to throw the soups out. Even though PORK is NOT listed as an ingredient of the dish on the menu (only chicken broth is showing), it is up to US to make sure they know our dietary restrictions. They were polite about it and didn't charge us for the soup. Non-the-less, I think the menu should list all ingredients of a dish. What's the point of reading a menu if we can't trust it's content? How many Muslim and Jewish people have been there and eaten a food which their religion prohibits without knowing.

I've been driving by this place for a couple years. It's in a building that was previously two different restaurants that quickly changed over, but Lac Vien has been lasting. It was busy even after the normal lunch rush time, and that can be attributed to the fast service and fresh food. The crispy noodle nest I ordered came out piping hot and very flavorful. The peanut sauce that came with the fresh rolls was perfect, not runny like at some other places. Definitely going back!

I had the the golden curry with chicken on steamed rice. I CANNOT express just how quality this place is. Easily the best curry I've ever had. Such a fine balance of sweet, savoury and spicy. The decor is pristine, especially contrasted with other Vietnamese restaurants, and the lighting is exquisite. Lac Vien surely deserves every acclaim it has received. I'll most definitely be back to work my way through the rest of their menu!
