I was really looking forward to showing my international guest the deliciousness of Golden Palace egg rolls. We of course ordered a full dinner for take out along with the egg rolls. I called a few hours ahead and impressed upon the restaurant staff the importance of the order being ready on time and I was assured it would be. I pulled up on time and my order was nowhere near ready. I drove an hour for no food. Very disappointing and will not try again.

Oh this place has the best egg rolls on the planet. But honestly for every holiday people order egg rolls by the hundreds. All the other food is so well done. This is my go to restaurant. If your driving on Carling Ave. you need to stop in even if just for take out egg rolls. It is just a minute away from the Carlingwood Mall

Most of the dishes are quite good. I've had so many over the years. The egg rolls are famously good. But the portions are surprisingly small for the price. Perhaps they are surprisingly pricey for the size. The food is consistently good though. The staff are straight out of a Bruce Lee movie and once you get used to them they are mostly nice. If you want amazing, friendly customer service this is not your place. There are several similarly priced Chinese food restaurants in town that are a better choice. I really just recommend going for a half dozen egg rolls split between 2 people for a quick easy snack.

I was born and raised in Ottawa and now I'm a long haul trucker who has been to many Chinese restaurants even in NYC and you will NOT find better egg rolls anywhere. Anywhere I've been I found the best Chinese restaurants the city had to offer from the locals I dealt with, so I didn't just order from a hole in a wall take out only restaurant that has all the same food from the same supplier. Also this is a Cantonese restaurant so keep that in mind when ordering

The egg rolls lived up to their hype and were delicious. Service was good. Egg rolls and three sharing plates was plenty for four people. Definitely on the pricey side, but the food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the lemon chicken.
