Came here with my SO on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. This place has a welcoming old school diner vibe. We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving and had our order taken quickly. The food was served surprisingly quickly. Not even 10 minutes after ordering. We shared a Poppa Cap and had a couple drinks. The drinks were super cheap for a restaurant in Toronto, so I would come back just for that. The burger was good, but not extraordinary. I would advise all visitors to watch their steps in this restaurant because the tile floors are VERY slippery.

Went to Lakeview for late night eats after a show at Dakota Tavern around the corner. We were pretty lucky to get a table quick, but our luck ran out soon enough. After ordering soda it took 15 minutes to get them, and another 45 minutes to get our food. Burger patties are very small for the inflated price, think Harveys Junior Burger but smaller and worse. No ice cubes in the soft drinks, tepid water in glass bottles on the tables. Washrooms are completely disgusting! Women's was bad, but hubby said Men's was worst he's ever seen. We told the server and she just rolled eyes at us like tell me something new. The place also has more security cameras than a bank, but trust me there is nothing of value at The Lakeview - just absentee servers, bad overpriced food, and the nastiest toilets ever. Wish we had gone to Chinatown, or anywhere else.

Enjoyed the place in the past... but went recently and was seated quickly, ordered and waited and waited and waited for food. After 45 minutes paid for drinks and told the waitress we where leaving. She said she could check on the food if I liked (politely but only after being told to cancel the order and really did not seem to care). I asked if they were understaffed in the kitchen, she replied no just busy and wait time for food is typically 30 minutes. It is a diner not a five star establishment! Last time for me.

Lakeview is my old faithful. Not spectacular but always a good meal. Service is good. Atmosphere is great, feels like youre in an old diner which is why it's used a lot in movies for this reason. Apple pie milk shake and the 24hr nature of it put it over the top. That's why I'm giving it 5 stars instead of something lower.

Great staff. Great food. Good prices. I like the overall vibe of this place. Been there all hours. Always great.
