I have been to this place twice .. and am not sure if I like it or not. First time I had a bowl and the second time I had the chicken soup .. the bowl was good and tasty but small IMO compared to the price .. but again in Toronto everything made with vegetables is overpriced .. the soup was a disaster and tasteless ! the cheese was sticking to the spoon ( am not sure who was the genius who decided to put melting cheese in a soup) .. long story short , it may have some good options or it may be just an overpriced food chain depending on the "fresh" tag ..

I was worried when I saw the long lineup during the lunch rush hour, but the highly efficient crew were running the place like a well-oiled machine--except without the oil, per the restaurant's manifesto. But before I knew it, I was at the front of the line, where a friendly and responsive staff member took my order. I went for the Tex-Mex burrito, with a beef "protein boost", which apparently is one of the staples of the place. The order was ready in record time. The meat was top grade and juicy. All the other ingredients were also of the highest quality. Alas, the entire ensemble simply didn't work for me. Diced beef, mixed with cooked brown rice, wrapped in a tortilla - the combination was bland, inconsistent, and disappointing. Perhaps it's not fair to punish Freshii for my own taste preferences, seeing as they served exactly what the menu said. Still, calling it "Tex Mex" is at least somewhat misleading, especially since, by default, they serve it without meat. I'd call it "Cali-thali" - a health-nut's faded facsimile of a hearty Southern favourite. Price is well above median, although likely in line with other "health conscious" chains. The ounce or so of meat added $4 to an already pricey burrito. Across the street, you can sit down for a decent, leisurely lunch, main and side dish, for about the same price, albeit without the pleasure of lining up with backpack-toting fashion students.

I have lunch at this location almost every day, they are very clean, the staff is very friendly, the price is affordable and pretty good. The only thing I'm not very help is that sometimes they forget to add my extra bacon to my order lol it happened 3 times...not a big deal, I've learned to check it before leaving ;D
