Food was great! Just in Detroit for the day and wanted to eat good food. My friend took me and my children to Steve's on a Sunday and we of course expected a line and a long wait. The wait existed but wasn't terrible. The truth is we could have waited twice as long and it still have been worth it. The food was great! The wings were a crunchy hit that could have used a little more seasoning during the cooking process but still were solid standard. The sides were all delicious. The absolute best part had to have been the fried fish though. It was the unilateral champion of dinner that night. The only thing truly lacking was the coconut cake, which was sad because all of the preceding eats were just delectable. The coconut cake was just sweet and lacking the depth of flavor that a true southern coconut cake would have been expected to come with. Maybe better/fresher coconut could have been the savior of this dessert. But alas they still garnered 5 stars with a strong side lineup and stellar mains all led by the perfected fried catfish.

Food was very southern soul. Just little heavy on the salt in my green beans /potatoes but delicious. I would return and recommend others go also. Bathroom clean. Went about 3:30 pm.

When we were laying brick building orleans landing next door. I ate here a lot with my co workers for lunch. Rib tips, and BBQ pig feet are number one, all the food is good but those were my 2 favorites. Good food, good portions, just awesome.

The lunch specials are a tremendous value and delicious as usual. I love the catfish, yams and cabbage. The best soul food restaurant in Detroit.

The staff was extremely rude. The fried chicken taste like it was fried in old grease. The greens was tough and the yams was to sweet. The peach cobbler taste like baby food. To sum it up the food was nasty and I will not be returning.
