A local gem. The service has always been good to excellent. Portions are large. I like the steak & eggs and the country fried steak. Not so sure on the omelets, the one that we've ordered was a scrambled egg laid on top of vegetables... not sure that's an omelet but it was still a large portion. The atmosphere is uniquely Alaska.

The service here was good and the food was very good as well. The portions were absolutely huge! I think I'd rather see smaller portions and a decrease in price instead of the gigantic portions and more money to pay for them. Breakfast is definitely the best meal and i will be going back for breakfast as often as i can!

Okay if you're going to Alaska this is the place you have to eat. For more than 20 years Gwennie's food has stayed consistent to flavor. I had the opportunity to eat there when I lived in Alaska for over 15 years. And went back 6 years, February 2018, later and the food was just as amazing as the first day I ever ate there. The service is amazing and the prices are perfect for the portions.

I don't know why I eat here the day after going down town, but I do and It's great every time. I recommend this place as a grest place to get breakfast food and a one of a time Alaska environment. The atmosphere really does make you feel like it's the last frontier, and the food is really good too. Recommend.

I'm not to sure how this place is popular our food was the only good thing honestly. Our server wasn't great could careless and just never checked in on us anyways. Some of the servers were dressed pretty scandalous very short dresses for older woman showing alot of skin even my husband was saying something about it. Overall wasn't impressed it was very outdated and very cluttered and overall experience wasn't good.
