Don Jose's was one of the first Mexican restaurants I went to when I move to Anchorage back in 95. I'm very happy I did because I have tried many other Mexican restaurants the many years since I've been here and all of them have fallen short to Don Jose's. Not only is the food and service always good but the prices have remained very reasonable as well. And it might be nit picking but the only reason that i didn't give 5 stars is I've had a few servers that were not up to the standards that were set buy 90% of the other servers. But otherwise go here if you want good classic Mexican food at good prices

Okay restaurant of you want a quick sit down dinner. You will be seated immediately and staff is moderately attentarive. The food is okay, very mild flavors and not spicy.

Great little quiet place. The food was pretty damn good, however I am not an expert when it comes to Mexican. Excellent drinks, I suggest a Cadillac Margarita. Nice place to go on weekend evenings. Not overcrowded, not too noisy. Good chips and salsa!

Margarita is below average. I have yet to find a good one up in Alaska. But, their salsa is so delicious. The cheese enchiladas wonderful. These folks deliver.
