We went for Mother's Day and we understood that we were going to be in for a long wait. We were told that it was going to be approximately an hour wait. We positioned ourselves about 10 ft from the door, with the door being in our eyesight. They did not have a loudspeaker to announce the names but we were able to hear when the staff member came out and called out who was next. After an hour has passed my husband went in to check how close we were to be seated. He then timed it and went in approximately every 15 to 20 minutes after that. At one point the lady walked specifically over to us and asked if we were the Hawthorne party and we told her that we were not and let her know which party we were. When it reached the 2-hour mark, my husband went in to find out why we had been waiting for 2 hours and was informed that they had supposedly called our party multiple times and, since we hadn't responded, they'd crossed our name off the list. My husband had been very polite and professional until that point and sternly explained to them that that was a highly unlikely scenario considering how close we were standing and how we heard every other name be called and he asked that we be seated next as we had been waiting for 2 hours. The employee actually took the time to check the arrival time that was written next to our name to verify whether or not we were exaggerating about how long we had been waiting. When she saw for herself that it had indeed been two hours she proceeded to try to go back to arguing about our name being called multiple times. My husband just repeated that we needed to be seated next and pointed out that there were three available tables within his eyesight. I took away two stars 4 an employee arguing with a customer in front of other employees and customers and for accusing a customer of lying/exaggerating. However I am a fair person and I still gave Stars for the food being tasty and our waitress being friendly and efficient. If I do return to The Egg & I, it will not be to this location. (Normally we would have never waited 2 hours but our grandson was asleep and it was a mild morning. He woke right before the 2 hour mark) Edit: Since posting this review the owner of this location has reached out to me and I would like to express my thanks for such a prompt and courteous response.

Today, but their best work. I'm thinking it was so close to closing time, the love and the effort just wasn't there today. Still would go back, but earlier in the am next time. But this visit 2.5-3*'s

Great restaurant! Food was delicious and the server was friendly. Personally I don't like coming here over the weekend, very long waiting time. Spinach, Bacon, Mushroom Omelette topped with creamy hollandaise sauce is my favorite food.
